|| WHEN IT ALL BEGAN
Life was breathed into the Massachusetts Chapter of the NDC last Saturday when NDC Presidential Candidate John Evans Atta Mills was a guest of the City of Worcestor.
The Massachusetts Chapter, which was the newest in a long line of NDC Chapters in North America, was inaugurated by John Evans Atta Mills and Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, one of the Vice Chairmen of the great NDC Party. Inaugurating the Chapter, the NDC Presidential Candidate at the time, appealed to member to make sure that the energy that us burning inside the Massachusetts NDC does not die in no time.
“You are the latest to join this great family of ours and I hope that just like those before you, you would work assiduously to justify the life you have been given today so that together we can work to get the NDC to where we want it to be” the NDC Presidential Candidate said.
Swearing in the Executives, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya admonished them to keep burning the midnight oil in order to justify the confidence and trust reposed in them. The Vice Chairman of the NDC implored the Executives be worthy ambassadors of the party and make sure that they continue to win more souls for the party. “Politics is about numbers and so it is your duty to go out and win more souls for the party” the Vice Chairman said. He also advised them to be very accommodating of the views of their political opponents since that is the only way they would, in a very subtle manner, be able to get their message across and in the process win people onto the side of the NDC.
On behalf of his colleagues, the Chairman of the Massachusetts NDC Chapter, Mr. Twumasi Appiah Ankrah, thanked the Leader of the party, the Vice Chairman, and other NDC high-ups who were present, for doing them the honors by coming to breathe life into them.
“We are very grateful for what has happened here today and we know that we must justify our being in the NDC with hard work because it is not too many Chapters in North America that have been privileged to have the Leader of the party being present at their inauguration” Mr. Twumasi Appiah Ankrah said. The Chairman said that Massachusetts is becoming a nerve center as for as Ghanaian politics is concerned and for the Leader of the party to have come all the way from Ghana to inaugurate them shows the reasoned seriousness with which John Evans Atta Mills is approaching the elections. “What has happened in this city today would send a clear signal that the NDC is not going to leave any stone unturned as it continues to soldier on to imminent victory next year” Twumasi Appiah Ankrah said.
The Massachusetts NDC presented a plaque to their Leader and told him that they are in no doubt that he would be the next president of the Republic of Ghana and that he should not forget to hang the plaque in his office after January 7th 2009, when he is sworn-in as the new president who would bring about a meaningful and purposeful change that would once again make Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana the shining star of the African continent.
